Art Class - 2006
This is a Ghanaian taxi or a Trow-Trow. This is the girls favorite form of public transportation and often is crowded with people. This is a depiction of life in Ghana.

The girls usually wash their clothes on Saturday and hang them to dry on a clothesline very much like the one in this painting(see right). They iron them and walk to church from Sweetwater House on Sunday. Notice the chicken wandering around the yard… truly “free-range.”
Art Class - 2007

This is a painting (2007, see left) of the Nativity done with crayon and watercolor expressing the simple faith of one of our girls and the Majesty of a tiny Babe born in a manger. Our girls identify with the simplicity of life in Palestine 2000 years ago. We Americans can learn a lot from our Ghanaian brothers and sisters about what is most important.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Christmas trees … Ghana-style
Ghana is located close to the equator and is the home of many tropical trees and plants. It was very challenging to describe Christmas trees as we have them in the United States with decorations, tinsel and lights. The tree below is a beautiful representation of Christmas trees in Ghana. Thank you, sweet sisters in Christ!
